A piece of Normandy, shaped by nature and brought back to life as light. This sculptural table lamp is made from a naturally forked section of beech tree that fell during a storm in Normandy. Rather than hiding the irregularities of the wood, the natural branch junction has been preserved as the defining feature of the piece. Its solid, almost architectural form gives the lamp a quiet, monolithic character, while the grain and natural markings reveal its origins. The wooden body is mounted on a thick piece of slate collected from a beach in Normandy. Rough and weighty, the slate creates a beautiful contrast with the warm, tactile surface of the beech and gives the lamp a strong, grounded presence. The light comes from a smart bulb with an embedded fixture, becoming part of the sculpture, while smart lighting lets you adjust the brightness and colour to create anything from a soft, warm glow to a more functional light.
